The best thng to do is get a screen cover and case for it they are a bit pricy on the sony site but their are others that are cheaper.
But I would say yes the sony tablet is quite strong as I have never dropped it so I could not tell you the truth but yes the sony tab is good for the reason you need it.
hope things get better for you.

My daughter (4.5years) has special needs and has difficulty in communication verbally (none really) and has fine and gross coordination problems, So my quest is to find a product that is touch friendly and perhaps audio linked. She has a tendency to throw things after she is bored or frustrated with it. I really want her to communicate with me and hoped that this might be the way forward. If dropped or thrown onto wooden floors will these be capable of taking this on a regular basis? Or is there a way to make it bounce proof, and screen break proof.
Many thanks in advance.
